Administration

Mr. Gilpin has spent his entire 14-plus year career in education with the St. Joseph School District. He began as a full-time elementary substitute teacher before transitioning to Spring Garden as a special education teacher, where he led the Structured Learning program for five years. He then became the Activities Director at Lafayette High School, serving in that role for four years before being promoted to Assistant Principal in the 2022-2023 school year.

Gilpin holds an Ed.S. in Superintendency, an M.Ed. in K-12 Administration, and a B.S. in Physical Education, all from Northwest Missouri State University. He is also certified in Mild/Moderate Cross-Categorical K-12 Special Education. 

He and his wife live in St. Joseph with their two children, Breck and Hayes.
